JORD | MOMENTS ARE BIGGER THEN MINUTES

December 1, 2016
I received my classic JORD watch about a month ago and was asked in return to give an honest review. Since then I have worn my watch daily so I could do just that. Before receiving my watch I was provided with instructions and a paper cut ruler to measure my wrist size, I opted to go a quarter size larger, if I could give you some advice it would be don't do that, the watch fit me a quarter size to big which was fixable, the people behind JORD know what they are doing so make sure you give them your exact wrist size. When I received my watch it came in this beautiful custom made wood box along with extra watch links, instructions on how to care for my classic piece, a cloth to clean my watch and an extra compartment to store some of my jewelry.

I really love their vision and what they believe in. "Moments are bigger then minutes, they created a watch that tells more then just time". A photographers dream. I am a big believer of this! Its about moments.

When I wear this watch it makes me feel edgy yet sophisticated, isn't it crazy how our clothing or jewelry can make us feel a certain way? I don't know if its just me but this watch makes me feel adventurous, hard-core and in charge. No joke!(lol) Let me know if your timepiece makes you feel the same way. I like that its light weight and I love the color. I get lots of nice complements!

JORD and I are doing a GIVEAWAY! One of you will receive a $75 e-gift card to choose the one that fits your style. If you don't win you will receive a $20 e-gift card for just entering. Click HERE to enter you won't regret it! A perfect gift for the holidays!

Keith Haring

August 1, 2012

Keith Haring is an 80s pop art icon. A street artist who's images crossed over because of their simplicity and ability to capture the publics imagination, recognizable simple bold lines and active figures, he became one of the most well known artist in the world, devoting a great deal of time to public works that often convey simple, positive message or ideas. Haring was experimenting with many different mediums before he began creating hundreds of drawings in white chalk on the unused black paper panels throughout the NYC subway system. He would produce up to 40 subway drawings in a day, and as his rapid rhythmic drawings became familiar to New York commuters, he began a meteoric rise to frame for brief but intense career that spanned the 1980s. Keith's work was featured in over 100 solo and group exhibitions before he died at the age of 31.

Frida Kahlo-Realism,Symbolism,Surrealism Painter

June 21, 2011
(July 6, 1907-July 13,1954)

"Frida Kahlo is one of the most influential and well-known artist of Latin descent from the twentieth century. Born in Mexico to a German photographer and Catholic housewife, she came of age during an era of great political change and the emergence of modern art.

At 18 years old she suffered critical injuries from a devastating bus accident that left her with a lifetime of pain unable to bear children. While bed-ridden in a body cast she began to paint, channeling her anguish and pain through self-portraits of striking surreal images that addressed the duality permeated through other areas of Fridas life as she engaged in love affairs with both men and women and mad the traditional Mexican style of hair and dress her signature look even through she delighted in dressing in slacks and men's clothing from time to time.

She was married to the celebrated Mexican artist Diego Rivera, a union that proved to be synergistic as he often painted her into his murals, yet also tumultuous as she struggled with his notorious infidelity.

Despite poor health throughout much of her life, Firda's passion went beyond art and love as she was also extremely political, joining communist league as a student and actively supporting key figures of the movement.

Frida Kahlo died in 1954 at the age of 47 and is remembered as one of the most important Latin American artists in modern art".

1932 Self Portrait on the Boarder of Mexico and the United States

"In an uncharacteristically sweet elegant pink dress and white gloves, she stands like a statue on a pedestal between the two different worlds. In her hand she holds a Mexican flag which much indicate where her loyalties lie. On one side, the ancient Mexican landscape, with its rich warm natural earthy colors, exotic plants and pieces of Aztec sculpture. The forces of nature and the natural life cycle govern the Mexican side. On the other side, the dead technology-dominated landscape of the United States is portrayed in dull grey's and blues. There is just on link between the two worlds:an electricity generator standing on the U.S. soil draws its power from the rots of plant on the Mexican side, which it then supplies to the socket of the pedestal on which Frida is standing. The legend on the pedestal reads" Carmen Rivera painted her portrait the year 1932." (Carmen is Frida's baptism name.)"

1933 My Dress Hangs There

1939 The Two Frida's

1938 Self Portrait with a Monkey

Can I say WOW!! I am so inspired by this artist. If you look at the images at first you might not understand or even "like" what you see. Once you read and learn more about her you understand the meaning behind each painting, you grow to really admire her as a person and artist. Its just so amazing how she expresses her life experiences through her painting using bright colors, uniqueness, realism, and symbolism that take your breath away. Frida was such a strong women. She was never fake and didn't care what others thought of her. She has inspired many of us to be ourselves and not be afraid to express ourselves through art.

Adam Isaac Jackson

Adam Jackson currently resides in Seattle Washington, but spent most of his life growing up in Japan. His work is infused with a love for fashion, comic books, rock posters, cartoons and a heavy influence of pop culture in general. Adam graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle in 2005 and has since been working in the apparel/fashion industry primarily as a graphic artist.

“In my art, I look to capture those moments and expressions I find the most beautiful and iconic and elaborate on them. Whether it’s bold patterns and bright colors, or simple black and white drawings, I am always trying to bring out the attitude and personality of the subject matter. I seem to prefer the black and white, especially right now.”

A lot of you guys know that I love to feel inspired through different artist. I love Adam's black and white style. I really like his perception. He has more of a rebel out look in his art but I really love how simple he makes it look. Love how he take a photograph and draws the image for a killer t-shirt. Definitely inspired for some black and white rebel looks. I too look to bring out your personality and attitude.

David Choe

March 12, 2011
David Choe (born 1976, Los Angeles, California) is an American painter, muralist and graffiti artist of Korean descent. He achieved art world success with his "dirty style" figure paintings—raw, frenetic works which combine themes of desire, degradation, and exaltation. Outside of galleries, he is closely identified with the bucktoothed whale he has been spray-painting on the streets since he was in his teens.

"Rarely do we see a street artist with the skills and complexity of David Choe. Rapidly establishing himself as one of the greats of the genre, Choe is compellingly repulsive. His complex and pulchritudinous pictures, seductive, appealing and ambitious yet equally mischievous, brutal and insular demonstrate what an angry, intelligent talent can truly achieve."
                                                                                                 Author unknown

I'm inspired by how this dynamic Artist expresses himself. The colors and creativeness amaze me. His strong personality and worry free spirit has gotten him where he is today.  Sometimes worrying about what others may or may not think can create a barrier to progress in what we truly love or envision. Todays post is all about believing in who we are. We are all given the gift of talent. My goal is to explore the world and find my new hidden talents. I hope to inspire at least one person to do the same.

Silvia Ji

January 9, 2011

San Fransisco native Sylvia Ji's portraits are symbolic reflections of herself and people she knows, beautiful curvy women with dreamy landscape and rainbows of colors. I am inspired by her uniqueness and perspective of art. I Love her style, especially the ones from her collection called ‘Por Vida’ where she recreates her own vision of the Dia de los Muertos. This inspires me to be whomever I want to be as an artist whether it be expressed through a paint brush, a spray can/airbrush, make-up/body paint, decorator etc.. or a camera. Art is viewed in so many different ways. Thats what makes it beautiful and unique. Just because someone might not like your perspective of expression, doesn't mean that its not art. If you like what you see that is your definition of art.  Let the world inspire us to be different!
